Jessica has extensive experience counseling clients on comprehensive U.S. and global intellectual property strategies that support their objectives whether it be through patents, trademarks, or copyrights. She has prosecuted numerous design and utility patents to issuance and regularly achieves success registering word mark and stylized/design trademarks in the U.S. and foreign countries. Jessica’s practice also includes post-allowance support, such as advocacy and dispute resolution when infringement or enforcement needs arise.
She also litigates complex intellectual property, commercial, and employment matters in federal and state court, and before the USPTO. She is an experienced trial lawyer who works with her clients to determine what a win means for them and develops a plan to achieve that goal. In 2019, Jessica litigated an agricultural business dispute case through a three-week jury trial resulting in a multi-million dollar verdict in favor of her client.
Jessica received her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the William S. Richardson School of Law and was the salutatorian of her graduating class. After starting her career at one of the largest private law firms in Honolulu, Jessica moved to Ventura and joined Ferguson Case Orr Paterson.
Jessica graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California in 2011, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering.
Jessica was born and raised in Honolulu. Outside of work, she enjoys running, traveling, fashion, art, and, most importantly, spending time with her family, friends, and dog Obi Wan.
